DAY 1 Cusco City tour
After arriving in Cusco, we’ll transport you from the airport to your hotel.
We suggest resting the whole morning in order for you to adapt to the high altitude.
In the afternoon, we’ll start the Cusco city tour:
       - La Plaza de Armas (main square)
       - Cusco cathedral
       - The Qoricancha
       - The archaeological Inka sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, PukaPukara and Sacsayhuaman.
Sacsayhuaman is a fortress made of stones, some of them weighting between 80 and 100 tons. Sacsayhuaman is also home to many festivals; Inti Raymi (the Sun festival) take places June 24th and in September La fiesta del Waracachi (initiation ceremony) where the young men have to pass several tasks in order to be received into manhood.
This tour ends around 6 PM with a transfer to your hotel.


DAY 2 Sacred Valley tour
At 9 AM we’ll pick you up from your hotel and then start the Sacred Valley tour. On the way, we’ll stop at the market of Pisac where the farmers bring their products to sell, and sometimes interchange for products outside their valley, products like candles, matches, cloth, salt, coca leaf, tropical fruits, etc. Later, we’ll eat at the local restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll visit Ollantaytambo, built as a watch point and also to control the entrance of the Valley from possible invaders coming from the jungle.
We’ll also walk in the little streets of the town that will give us an idea of the religious, military, and cultural power of this place in time of the Inkas.
On the way back to Cusco, we’ll stop at Chincheros the remains of the royal farm that once belonged to Tupac Inka Yupanqui. Afterwards we’ll transfer you to your hotel.


DAY 3 Cusco – Mollepata
We depart at 6AM by private bus from Cusco to Mollepata (cruz pata) where we will have breakfast. From here we will start hiking to Challacancha where we will have lunch.
Later we will hike the trail back to Salcantaypampa and finally we will have dinner and camp at the bottom of the Salcantay mountain.
On this tour we will hike for about 4 hours taking in the beautiful views of the white snow capped mountains of Umantay and Salkantay.

DAY 4 Umantay
At 7AM we will have breakfast and then hike toward al abra Salkantay for a view of the Vilcabamba valley and the chain of mountains known as Pedreoc, Pumasillo and Wayracmachay (4.600msnm), from here you can see the original Inka trail that came from Cusco and went to Choquequirao.
Later we will go down to Ichupata where we will have lunch. Afterwards we will continue to Wayramachay, where we will spend the night at the bottom of the Umatay mountain(4120msnm). This tour lasts around 5 hours.

DAY 5 Ccollpapampa
After breakfast We will continue hiking down to Rayampata, a small village of only 4 families surrounded by natural beauty.
Later we will hike to Ccollpapampa and have lunch. Afterwards we will visit “los baños termales” (thermal baths) and also the archaeological ruins of Plateayoc. In the afternoon, we will enjoy the view and relax. At night, we will have dinner and camp. The tour lasts about 3 hours.

DAY 6 Llactapata
After breakfast we will rejoin our trail to Miskabamba beach and have lunch. We will visit the nearby Pacche waterfall which has 11 different cascades, each one 50m high.
After lunch, we will hike the trail toward Llactapata, an archaeological ruin that might have been a place to control the entrance payments to Machu picchu. Later we will camp in Llactapata, a place that offers a view of the city of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Salkantay.
This section of the trail has about 8 hours of hiking.

DAY 7 Machu Picchu
At 6:30AM after breakfast, we will go to Puente Ruinas and meet our bus to Machu Picchu. We will spend 3 hours exploring one of the 7 new wonders of the world.
After lunch we will return to Cusco by train.


DAY 8 Transfer Out
After breakfast we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Lima

  • Cookies, crackers, granola bars or other small snacks.
  • Camcorder or camera.
  • Binoculars.
