DAY 1 Cusco City Tour
After arriving in Cusco, we’ll transport you from the airport to your hotel.
We suggest resting the whole morning in order for you to adapt to the high altitude.
In the afternoon, we’ll start the Cusco city tour:
- La Plaza de Armas (main square)
- Cusco cathedral
- The Qoricancha and
- The archaeological Inka sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, PukaPukara and Sacsayhuaman.
Sacsayhuaman is a fortress made of stones, some of them weighting between 80 and 100 tons. Sacsayhuaman is also home to many festivals; Inti Raymi (the Sun festival) take places June 24th and in September La fiesta del Waracachi (initiation ceremony) where the young men have to pass several tasks in order to be received into manhood.
This tour ends around 6 PM with a transfer to your hotel.
DAY 2 Sacred Valley Tour
At 9 AM we’ll pick you up from your hotel and then start the Sacred Valley tour. On the way, we’ll stop at the market of Pisac where the farmers bring their products to sell, and sometimes interchange for products outside their valley, products like candles, matches, cloth, salt, coca leaf, tropical fruits, etc. Later, we’ll eat at the local restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll visit Ollantaytambo, built as a watch point and also to control the entrance of the Valley from possible invaders coming from the jungle.
We’ll also walk in the little streets of the town that will give us an idea of the religious, military, and cultural power of this place in time of the Inkas.
On the way back to Cusco, we’ll stop at Chincheros the remains of the royal farm that once belonged to Tupac Inka Yupanqui. Afterwards we’ll transfer you to your hotel.
DAY 3 Cusco - Machu Picchu - Inka Trail (Chilca, Wayllabamba & Llactapata)
We’ll pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Urubamba, 1 hour away from Cusco where we’ll have breakfast. We’ll drive by bus to the town of Chilca where we start hiking the Inka Trail toward Machu Picchu. After 3 hours hiking we’ll stop and have lunch.
Later, we’ll rejoin our trail hiking until we reach our 1st camp site in Wayllabamba. We will also explore the nearby archaeological ruins of Llactapata.
Finally we’ll have dinner and camp for the night..

DAY 4 Inka Trail (Warmiwañusca & Pacaymayo)
Early in the morning, after a breakfast we’ll start hiking to the highest point of the Inka Trail, where we’ll be able to experience the many micro-climates of this area and therefore it’s different habitats.
Later we’ll arrive at abra Warmiwañusca at 4,200M and have lunch.
We’ll rejoin our trail to Pacaymayo where we’ll have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 5 Inka Trail (Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Puyupatamarca & Wiñaywayna)
After breakfast we’ll continue our trail and hiking for 45 minutes until arriving at the 2nd most important part of the Inka Trail, Runkurakay at 3850M. We’ll explore the archaeological ruins of Runkurakay, and later the nearby ruins of Sayacmarca.
Next, we’ll start hiking to the magnificent ruins of Phuyupatamarca.
After lunch and a short break, we’ll continue our trail toward the ruins of Wiñaywayna, where we’ll explore in detail this archaeological site.
You’ll have free time for a brief walk on your own while your tour guides get ready the dinner and set up camp.

DAY 6 Machu Picchu - Inka Trail - Cusco
After breakfast we’ll continue our trail to Machu Picchu, going thru a mountainside and el bosque humedo de nubles (humid cloud forest) which is rich in giant ferns and plants with a wide leaf. A little later, we’ll arrive at Intipunku (sun gate) from this point we’ll be able to look Machu Picchu where our tour guide will explain in detail about this amazing city.
Once inside Machu Picchu, we’ll explore la plaza principal (main square), the round tower, the intiwatana, the royal room, the temple of the 3 windows, and the cemetery.
Later we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant in Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu.
In the afternoon we’ll return by train to Cusco and finally to your hotel.
This days dinner is not included in the tour so we recommend having dinner at a restaurant around the Cusco main square, or Plaza de armas in downtown Cusco.
DAY 7 Cusco - Manu Wildlife Center
El Manu Wildlife Center is located east of the river Manu and north of the Madre de Dios shore. The lodge has 22 private bungalows, showers with hot water, a big dinning room, bar protected by mosquito net and hammocks for relaxing.
Early in the morning our representative will pick up the passengers from their hotels and transfer everyone to Cusco airport in order to catch a 35 minute flight to Boca Manu. From this point passengers will travel over the Madre de Dios river. Around 90 minutes later passengers will arrive to Manu Wildlife Center and have lunch.
In the afternoon we’ll explore some of the 30 miles of trail around the lodge and it might be possible to find some of the 12 species of monkeys that live in these areas. Monkeys such as Saki and Emperor Tamarin (Saguinus imperator.)
After dinner we’ll go to colpa de tapires (tapir lick) one hour away from the lodge, where we’ll find a platform designed to be a watch point where we can watch these interesting animals who come to this area to eat mud.
DAY 8 Manu Wildlife Center- Colpa de Guacamayos- Colpa de tapires
We’ll wake up early in the morning and then we’ll go to the only colpa de guacamayos and Papagayos in the area of Manu(macaw and parrot lick.) Our trip to the colpa will last around 25 minutes.
From a hidden floating place we’ll be able to watch and take pictures of hundreds of macaws and red and green parrots that come to this place to eat.
Important fact:
- La colpa de guacamayos (macaw lick) has a higher activity from end of July till October and the activity decrease during May and June.
- During dry season (May - October) the level of the river where our hidden floating place is located becomes visible.
In the afternoon, after lunch we’ll go to one of the lakes of the area, over there we’ll find a wide diversity of birds such as Hoatzin commonly known as Shansho, also we’ll be able to see otters at this location.
After dinner we’ll have chance to go to the tapir lick.
DAY 9 Manu Wildlife Center- Cocha Blanco
We’ll wake up early in the morning and then we’ll explore the trails paying extra attention to the tropical fruit trees, learning from our staff of biologist and native tour guide. Around this area we’ll find more species of monkeys and birds, we can also visit one of the two lakes from this area before we explore the forest trail.
After lunch, we have the opportunity to explore other trails, looking for more birds and mammals.
After dinner if you request, we can return to the Tapir lick.
DAY 10 Manu Wildlife Center- Cusco
After breakfast we’ll travel by boat to Boca Manu airport and then a flight to Cusco.
In Cusco, we’ll pick you up and then drive you to your hotel.
NOTE: the tour may vary according to the different activities that we conducted.
DAY 11 Transfer Out
After a delicious breakfast we’ll transfer you to Cusco airport and assist you with catching your flight.
